Absolutely. My Dad uses an Acorn Risc PC: he knows how to use it, it
works, it does all he needs it to do. But as we all know, there's more
than one way to do it and so knowing many different systems has got to
be a plus.

I guess those that use and love Debian feel somehow more evangelical: being
a NPO, completely volunteer based etc and commited to getting things right
rather than releasing on a specific date. I think we kind of dispise Red
Hat for creating the RPM format which has been adopted by the LSB which
I think a lot of people believe is a bad decision: we love the
sophistication of debs and apt-get.

Plus Debian has nothing like the advertising might of Red Hat and so the
users take it upon themselves to act as agents for the organisation! :)
