Well I live in Lenton and last time, I wrote to Alan Simpson who was and
still is my MP. He was helpful IMO and said that the legislation concerned
him. He wrote to Jack Straw (then the Home Secretary) on my behalf. The
response from the home office was unsatisfactory to me, and in fact just
amplified my concerns somawhat, but I did believe that Mr Simpson wanted
to help where he could. I got the impresssion though that Mr Simpson did
not, perhaps understandably so, have a full understanding of the issues.
I thought perhaps a meeting between some of us and him might be mutually
benificial.
