It's finally happened - Micro$oft's final solution for owning the internet and remote-controlling every household PC in the world was quietly unveiled this week. It's name is Palladium.

This new internet protocol is aimed at replacing TCP/IP (which isn't owned by anyone), with Palladium (owned by Micro$oft). The technology will be CPU-native (thanks, of course, to Intel and AMD) and so is not easily circumventable. It will also require every piece of software installed on your computer to be fitted with a digital certificate (approved by Micro$oft). Any software M$ doesn't like will not run on your computer.

Palladium will have dire consequences for Linux, the Open Source movement as a whole, Apple and the Macintosh and, above all, everyone's right to privacy and to do whatever they damn well please with their own computers.

The telescreens are coming, Orwell fans, and they bear the name of Microsoft.

Don't believe me? There are some highly informative and absolutely terrifying articles about Palladium on the net, check these out:
