Oh goody!!

Several times I have had comments about the 'poor' web site of the "!LUG"
(hmm, I like it, appeals to my warped sense of humour I guess). Finally some
folks have come up with more than just ideas. Great. And I like the 'robin
tux', too.

I also seem to have discovered people who have sent messages from Saturday
afternoon and my watch says it is still Friday evening - now how DID you do
that?

Part of the reason the current web site is so basic, is that the server it is
on gives just basic facilities (that and the lack of time I have to do much
with the site, and I just never go to anything that is held in a pub, etc ...)

So, when you brilliant designers have a great site, I can get the UK LUG
organiser to change the web address (or just stick in a redirect).

Personally I like simple sites that load quickly (on a dial up line - yes,
the suggestion for the October meeting is appreciated [ now where would you
hold the meeting? I have a cable crimper that you could borrow ] )

Other topics for meetings could be Linux in the office -
OpenOffice/StarOffice/Evolution/Samba ...
and Linux in education (anyone seen an encyclopaedia CDROM for linux?)

Greetings,
Godfrey
