hmm, okay, okay....I see what your getting at, other function such as
encryption and the like, maybe it's worth putting on the card itself. I
think clustering the only way to go really for an increase in network
performance, the 'brute' force method of equipping servers with gigabit
ethernet, just shifts the bottle neck somewhere else (interrupts, pci
bandwidth, copying packet structures around the memory space.).

One thing I did notice trying to get my wireless card going was the
kernel seems to have a fast switching mode, for linux optomised routers.
Intrestesting stuff, will investigate further.

By the way, I got my wireless card going in debian 2.2.20, so I'll be
down to Durnkirk with airsnort, netstumbler and the like to join in the
party on line...;-) ;-).........

iwconfig yum! yum!
