You're absolutely right we need a new site - which is why we are having
this discussion I guess; the current site appears to suggest we only
meet in November which is going to put people off straight away.

We need a nice looking informative site to tell people who we are, what
we're doing and so on. This is the kind of thing that will bring in new
members. Not that I'm obsessing about the damned poll, but I really
doubt having a poll (or not, in fact) would affect our chances of
attracting new members. In my opinion we'd be better off without too
much unnecessary clutter taking attention away from the useful
information.

I had a look at the site you posted and it looks very nice (I prefer it
in the current font size to be honest). Heh, I'm not entirely sure that
I agree with "More fat less content" either :)
