I would say there are many efficient, easy to configure attractive AND
suitably spartan scripts out there.

Also, conversationally ... There is a difference in my humble opinion
between a Linux Mailing List and a Linux User Group.
It sounds to me like you're aiming for the former not the latter. If
there's no desire or perceived need to expand into a more bouyant and
accessible web presence then it is somewhat unlikely that you will attract
new members in any great number.

Having said that, if you dont want or dont need a website and are content
to be a mailing list with a handful of active 'meet' members - thats
entirely none of my business and I can fully appreciate why its good the
way it is. :O))
