Sadly not, with the wealth of information available in man-pages and on the
Interweb I haven't really had course to find a book on Unix. I suspect JCM
or his LinuxUser Magazine have probably reviewed lots of books over time and
may have a recommendation.

Good choice. Your task now is to get hold of a Debian T-Shirt and start

Nick Luckcuck (who has turned up to the odd NotLUG meet) wrote a howto after
his experience of setting up his speedtouch with PPPoA (PPP over ATM):
http://nick.luckcuck.org.uk/docs/linux-bt-adsl-probably-not-HOWTO.html
Though as he says,
"This is really old, so I would go to
<http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net/>
and find a more up to date one."
For instance, proper drivers are now in the kernel IIRC.
