I have two PCs running SuSE 8, one, my new server is an old Gigabyte
Motherboard with Dual PIII 450s, the second is an Elite Motherboard with an
Athlon XP1800+. Both work extremely well, the PIII multitasks very well with
KDE system Guard showing an even spead of tasks between the two CPUs. On the
whole the PIII seems much faster than you would expect from a couple of lowly
processors.
The Athlon works a treat it is fast, stable and an ideal complement to Linux.
I would dearly love to try linux one one of the new Athlon SMP boards, my
Athlon XP sings along, a dual XP would be superb.
