I`m gonna try a couple of projects that other people have done succesfully
but slightly modified for myself and am hoping that some of the people in the
group would be gracious enough to offer there expertise and advice </ass
kissing>

1) I`m working on the idea of an mp3 player based on a bog standard p166 or
above for my car. If you can visualise; The unit itself will be a bare
machine with no more than an 8Gig hard disk, graphics card (to preven bios
failures) and about 32mb of memory. For the display, I have a parallel port
lcd screen with 40 characters and 2 lines. This is succesfully working as has
been tested using lcd smartie in windows. The input will be a row of buttons
in the facia (where the radio in a car is) that is effectively keys on a
keyboard. I have a keyboard that I can basically take the controller chip off
and hook straight to these buttons. Again, I could do this with winamp in
windows. I also have an old ups at work that I can take the inverter out of
to provide me with a power source. What I need to sort out is the software
for linux. I`d like a console based mp3 player that will allow me a way of
outputting the track name, length, and playtime to the lcd screen. Oh, also,
it will of course be running ftpd and and sshd so I can run an ethernet cable
on to my driveway to add/remove songs...

2) Very simply, a watercooling system for my main home computer, anyone had
any experience/got any input?

Thanks

Mike
