Well need is relative. I'd have much preferred to have foregone using
Windows, but never having confidured a cable connection for the first
time I wanted to use a simple and supported method toget the
connection sorted to aid my problem solving.
I fear if I'd have done otherwise I'd have been going round in circles
and getting myself into a mess...
