I've got one of these lying around somewhere. From
what I remember, you set the irq/io using a dos app and then give
insmod the same values (with the ne module). I don't recall if it
ever actually auto-detected it in linux, but it has definitely worked
in linux.
You may find it easier to just pop out and pick up a 15
quid realtek based card or similar that's PCI and detected fine
by linux.
