Hmm, ISA NICs. Joy.
You do indeed need to give insmod these values. It shouldn't be too
hard though. IIRC you can successfully insmod with the right io and
wrong irq but the card just won't work. So once you've worked out which
io it is, you should then be able to pick likely IRQs out and test them.
The only other way is to have the disk that came with the card since
that will be able to tell you what it's currently using.
You may have some success with Windows drivers - I'm not sure. I
generally had the driver disk and then noted it down or just searched
for it manually.
