OK, so we need to decide what we're definitly going to display.
A few thoughts:

Client machine with KDE/KOffice to show one of the major desktop
players. We can have Gnome on another machine, maybe other window
managers as well.
Open Office or similar to show you can access files from MS Office (so
we'd better have some office files)
Groupware (shared calander etc, I'll have a look round & see what I
can find if nobody else can come up with anything)
Laptop with stuff on
Various network services (web/email/database)
Firewall (how can we best demonstrate this?)

Other questions:
How many machines can we get in the room (without overloading the
electrics 8-)
What sort of networking are we setting up (Cat 5/BNC) What addresses
are we using so people can get machines set up in advance?

There must be other things
