Yep, that's pretty much the case. I looked into building Beowulfs a while
back. Putting the hardware together is the easy bit! As a Software Engineer,
I can tell you that writing stuff for massifly parrellel systems is orders of
magnitude harder than for single/dual processor systems. Many problem domains
are not suitable for parrellelism anyway.

The main targets for beowulfs are research (where software is specially
written anyway) and possibly database servers.

Nice idea though - I would love the k3wl factor of having a supercomputer in
my house!
