Yes, I am running linux on my computer in my office, as a) I hate
microsoft and b) the only software I need to use is fluent running on X
from cropwell (a Digital Unix box).
Still when they bought my computer, they insisted (University Policy
apparently) on buying a license for Win98 and Office. And then some techie
came round and set it all up this Novell shite they insist on using.
