The turn-around time, from finding a problem to fixing it, is another.
Open Source software has big advantages here.
[<] **Flame Proof jacket on here**
Not all the time. Because it is up to who ever
actually feels like at the time, some bugs carry on.
This is the big scare thing for business.
You could spend a lot of time trying a open source solution
only to find a bug, and then it not getting fixed in time.
Netscape/Mozilla has a JavaScript refreash problem in a few certain
areas. It means for the current company web app we are developing
we have to recommend IE.
[<] ***** Please note the i am not saying that MS are any better,
they
do have the commercial need to fix bugs, open source doesnt. That is
all.

[<] In a sort of disagree sort of agree (I am a progammer), to
actually get involved
with some of the open source software takes a great deal of time and
expertise.
How many of you have actually thought,"oh that doesnt work I will
fix it", then
gone and develved into the c code for it??
> But I agree, this is definitely worth "pushing".
[<] I agree but with some reservations.
