What about a techie night? Back at the community centre or elsewhere?
I was thinking on the lines of a big publicity meeting.
The Gartner Group (influential management consultants) wrote last week that
now may be the time to move from Micro$oft IIS because they had no confidence
in its present or future security. We can offer a view of a working
alternative! Just think of a network of machines, KDE desktop and OpenOffice
with a server running apache/sendmail/bind, etc..
We could send out invites to people to look at it all working.
Maybe a ticket affair, cost 2 quid to cover expenses (room and grub)
- Or look for a sponsor.
What d'yall think? Anyone want to help me with it?
Greetings,
Godfrey (the Linux Evangelist)
