IMHO
Apache -> Tomcat -> JBoss
http://www.apache.org
http://www.jboss.org
Matthew, your boss obviously wasn't trying ! ;)
You can set up the above in approx 1 day from scratch including
compiling apache with dso, installing Java Environment, integrating Tomcat
Tomcat/JBoss from JBoss.org
Infact integrating Apache/Tomcat takes a one line change to one file
httpd.conf + minor mods to the worker properties file.
Serving other page types -> http://xml.apache.org (cocoon/fop)
Also the documentation is not 'out of date' you can't possibly complain
about having to look for information!
Agreed MySQL superb why pay 45-100k for orcale/db2/mssqlserver if your
entire enterprise application environment has cost 0p
LAMP for web development yes, otherwise for 'enterprise' development I don't
think you can beat JBoss
John.
