[Stuff about printing in Mandrake]

I've got an Epson Stylus Colour 850 and a Stylus Photo 870 working under
RedHat 6.1. Basically I hacked together and built a rpm of ghostscript
with the STP driver (from http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net). Then I
modified printerdb and used printtool to configure the lpd spools. You'll
need to put in extra gs options like:
 -sModel='escp2-870' -sQuality='720 DPI High Quality' \
 -sInkType='Six Color Photo' -sMediaType='Plain Paper

> Can you show how you modified /usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printerfilters/printerdb?

It's just a text file, so you add in entries like:

StartEntry: STP driver
    GSDriver: stp
    Description: {STP driver}
    About: { \
                STP driver.\
                }
    Resolution: {360} {360} {}
    Resolution: {720} {720} {}
EndEntry

I can mail anyone the source rpms of my modified ghostscript-6.50 if they
need it. Gimp-print includes instructions for using CUPS as well...
You can also get rpms from
 http://space.tin.it/computer/livbe/linux/stp_driver/gs_stp.htm

For the 680, you'll need at least gimp-print 4.1 (I used 4.0.4). I could
put together a source rpm for this version...
