standards and free software won't it?

Is postscript a proprietary format?
According to the Font HOWTO[0] at least it's an ISO standard.

So how on earth is boycotting an open standard going to help in any way?

Regardless of whether you own a postscript printer when you print via
apsfilter or magicfilter or whatever nice filter you use you'll end up
going via postscript.

[0] I'm not near a net connection at the moment.
