As far as I could gather, mostly it's small incremental improvements, more
configurability, improvements to the applications included. One item however
is greater feedback, using the cursor, on starting a program, most don't
notice the activity indication on the kicker panel, so start programs twice.

There was (is?) a problem with mail authentication, due to license problems
with a library that was used, though someone was writing a replacement, I'm
not sure whether it's complete enough for the 2.2 release to be included, or
whether Kmail still has a problem with that.
