I am currently using Potato with a TNT2 Ultra, which has XFree86 3.3.6,
works fine.
Unless you're big on playing the latest 3D games in Windows, you'll find
this card's performance is good, it can drive a monitor with 1600x1200
display well.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me, is how much RAM graphical programs
like to use. Around 10 years ago, 16MB was plenty for X, now most ppl will
want at least 64MB, with 128MB being a better idea to get the most from a
P3-550.
I've not tried this card yet with XFree 4, I know there were some stability
issues with the Nvidia supplied binary drivers (pls resist the temptation
for a polemic on non-source provided drivers), which I expect will be sorted
out, in a bug fix rpm from the distro.
Your most likely set up problem is finding what the monitor scan frequencies
are, if you've lost the handbook which came with it.
