Yep and it sucks.
There is a different stack for win98 2nd ed and winMe to NT4 win2K.
This has caused by them going it alone.
We found this after noticing that a 100mb file takes x longer copying from a
winMe to win2k than win95 to Nt4.
MS official answer is that is a design feature cos the 2 OS are for different
markets and one for home and one for LANS.
The stack in winME is apparently optimized for dial up.
opps for those with cable modems then? what this thing that i attach to a
modem or router? ;q says the client with broadband.
