David Downes dreams on:
> ... hope we can at some point arrange a date
> for an informal meeting (pub :-) perhaps Langtrys?

and in a burst of inspiration, adds:
> ... How about say this Thursday evening,
> aprox. 7 pm

Wahay! Yeah! Definitely.
Langtrys? Oh well. See you 7pm then.

To this, Mark responds enthusiastically with:
> bottoms up
> see ya in the pub hehehe

but alas, Jon Masters is elsewhere:
> I'm stuck in Reading atm
and prefers:
> encrypted resiserfs setup for my most sensitive work.

On the other hand Toby Jaffey is:
> ... happy to bring along my new shiny Compaq iPAQ

(but only between 27th April and June 1st).
OK let's keep that on ice for next meeting - this week hasn't happened yet.

and Jason Gruber finds the count still quorate:
> the HEAD Count stands at 2.

Meanwhile Jim leaps up and down saying:
> I'm up for it - Thursday? OK if I bring a date? :)

but unfortunately, later on he has to admit:
> Make that 3, sorry I'm not able to bring along a date ;)

Happily for Jim, David Downes offers:
> if I can find a recently stuffed penguin I'll bring that along.

So Jim should be OK after all.

Then Peter Butterfield wonders:
> ... have been thinking I may be able to manage a
> night out

Now we're talking.

and David Clarke contemplates:
> Another one here. Perhaps be at L:angtry's Tomorrow.

So now its 4 and a half plus a penguin plus me.
There is hope for us yet.

My dream is that one day there'll be so many of us that we can
hold say a monthly meeting in a booked room, and concentrate on
zombifying penguinly matters, AND a weekly or whatever gathering
in a public house where we can quench our zombified souls.

Actually, two friends of mine are playing down Hockley later on
(starting about 8.30, they're called Jazz Alchemy, sort of Jango
+ Grapelli sound) so I'll be starting out in Langtrys but moving
on later.

David Clarke wonders:
> Langtry's was once 'The Peach Tree'. I hope It's improved.

Well so do I. But its on the way down towards Hockley, so I'll check it
out for you, if you dont make it.

Our founder, Godfrey Nix is lucky:
> I will be with my family
Many of us either havnt had one yet, or dont have such things anymore.
My heart goes out to you. Remember me to Jo too.

Lastly, but not leastly, poor old Mark says:
> I can't make the expo, or even a local pub, I just havn't got the money

If you get yerself down there Mark, I'll stand you a pint. You live out
in Bullwell don't you - well I live near Nottm Trent Uni but often walk
out to the Lion - that's nearly in Bullwell - and I bet I'm a lot less
agile in my old age than you are. So start walking *RIGHT NOW*.
By the way Mark - have you ever tried busking?

See you all to{morrow|day}.

-Ted.
